I'm dissapointed to be home. It's so cold here!
Ok, now on to the positives. My trip was INCREDIBLE. I think I quite possibly just enjoyed one of the best 3 weeks of my life. Maybe the best ever.
I've never spent a successive 3 weeks with Tony and I now know that I enjoy it, quite alot. This road trip together taught us that we can spend 3 weeks non-stop with each other, drive across the country, and never be out of each others hair and still be very happy and very in love.
The day we left, we drove through western Colorado where there was 2 feet of snow, beauty of creation Arizona, dead Nevada, and then Vegas- where I'm pretty sure Satan feasts daily. It's a very exciting town but so full of sin and lust. It was there that I ate my first In-n-out burger. The place was packed and I didn't really enjoy my first experience after all the hype it gets. We ate it twice more though and I enjoyed it more and more. After leaving Vegas we drove on to Los Angeles. It was between a 7 and 8 hour trip, not too bad. The first night was the Kings game. Soo fun!!! We were 3rd row off the glass, just to the left of the goal. We won 4-0 and all 4 goals were scored on our end. I'm glad I get to look forward to a life-time of games, it was so fun. We spent 5 more days there. We went to the beach everyday, at sunset. I am in love. (With beach sunsets, that is). It never got boring, it was absolutely incredible. We spent time with the guy that is now his best man. Best friend from high school. He's a wonderful guy, really funny and really genuine. After spending time with him, I see a lot of where Tony gets things. Like sometimes he starts talking weird and now I realize that that's how he and this guy talk together and always have. We also got to spend a day with his sister and her boyfriend. We had lunch with his cousin, aunt, and grandma. We got to tour Beverly Hills, The Hollywood walk of fame, and the Hollywood hills. We saw the stars houses but we didn't know who lives in them. We ate at all his favorite restaurants. I saw his high school and where he grew up. We also got to see a good friend of mine from middle school through high school that lives there now. Her campus is astounding. I also got to meet her boyfriend which was really good. When it came time to leave (sad face), we drove on to the other side of Arizona. It was a 7 hour trip to a friend of mines house. I've for years called him my big brother and haven't seen him in waaayyy too long. He got married almost 2 years ago and I hadn't met his wife yet. They had a baby who's 11 months old now, who's named after me (Kalyn Emily). It was such a great time there, getting to know him again and getting to know his wife. She's adorable and giggly, which I love. The baby is soo wonderful.. I almost took her home with me. She's so gorgeous, and has the best personality. She's verry happy, quiet, and so full of life. She's a really smart girl and loves books. Granted, her love of books consists of throwing them around, eating them, and turning pages backwards, but she almost always has a book in her hands. We got along really well and I can't wait till she's old enough to realize she was named after me :) The next day we left there and drove 18 hours straight to get home to my parents house. We left at 6 am and pulled up to the house at midnight. We had planned to leave the day before and stay the night in the middle but we enjoyed our time in az so much we decided it was worth the sacrifice. That boy is a beast, I'm telling you. He woke up at 5 am and drove the whole way, no problems, no tired-ness. I got bored and wanted to drive, but he said he was on a mission and wanted to be able to say he did the whole 18 hours (I will never understand man egos).
So that's it, we're home now and very cold. Our whole trip was in the high 70's-80's and I think it's probably 30 here today. I spent my week in shorts and capri's and came home to find that a t-shirt and jeans doesn't cut it.
We were told before we left that this trip would be a great test of our engagement and whether or not we should really get married, and what married life would be like. We've found that we're quite content with our married life being like this trip was. I've never enjoyed someone's company quite as much, or enjoyed 18 hours in a car with ANYONE. I'm pleased to say we got along just fine and it was a very rewarding test.
